BLU-RAY is better....

Atleast in the Consumer Home Market. You may have notice recent entries by manufactures of duplicators promoting systems for Blu-Ray. Which is nice, but if the real effect of this phenom is lower price points for DVD-5 and/or 9. Full scale use of Blu-Ray has a long way to go.

We have seen an increase in more people using DVD instead of CD for promotional demos and/or software upgrades. What has really caught are attention is the terrible masters we receive. For some reason, people forget the major flaw with making a master:

1) Use better media, Sony or Tai Yudon would help greatly, lesser brands fall by the waist-side with todays 16x burners.

2) SLOW the burn speed down to 8X but no lower than 4X.

We test masters using a CIRC test to gauge the amount of errors. The masters are graded. According to our policy, low grade is not an acceptable master to use for duplication due to a high amount of errors. This comes as a shock to alot clients. Especially, those that never had their master tested and are coming to us for a re-order on stock items.

Blu-Ray was developed to ensure protected copywrites. Does this open Pandora's Box. Fortune has it this technology is focused on the movie and music industries, which is great because it is hard to justify the cost of Blu-Ray DVDs when it comes to Corporate Promos.
